City post's meat raffle to aid Flutie autism foundation.
The medical van owned by Veterans Hospice Homestead of Fitchburg will make three stops this week:
Thursday: Athol American Legion, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Friday: Groton Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Ayer Town Hall from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
A nurse will conduct health screenings, including cholesterol and blood glucose levels and hypertension testing, and answer medical questions for veterans enrolled in the VA health care system.
Vernon Hill Squadron Sons of the American Legion Post 435 will hold a meat raffle at 2 p.m. at the post, 267 Providence St., Worcester. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism. The public is invited.
East Side American Legion Post 201 will meet at 7 p.m. at 326 Plantation St., Worcester. The executive board will meet at 6.
Leominster AMVETS Post 38 will meet at 7 p.m. in the Veterans Center, 100 West St., Leominster. Officers will be elected.
Main South American Legion Post 341 will meet at 7 p.m. at the post, 1023 Main St., Worcester. Nominations of offices and executive board members will be held at this meeting. The executive board will meet at 6:30.
Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Willie Grout Camp 25 will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Air National Guard building, 50 Skyline Drive, Worcester.
The Bigelow Monument Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Worcester Common. The dedication will be honoring Timothy Bigelow.
