City offers April 16 recycle event.
The city of Wenatchee in partnership with Wenatchee Valley College Automotive Technology Club, Stemilt Organic Recycling Center, Wenatchee Valley Salvage & Recycling, and the Salvation Army will host a recycle event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Lincoln Park parking area on the corner of Crawford and Methow streets.
The event is for Wenatchee city residents only. Proof of residence is required (utility bill or personal identification).
Residents can dispose of automotive batteries, scrap iron, refrigerators, air conditioners, appliances, televisions, desktop computers and monitors for free. Residents can also dispose of passenger and light truck tires for free until disposal trailers are full. (Rims will not be removed from tires for return to owners).
City residents can also dispose of two standard size pickup loads of brush, tree limbs, branches, grass clippings and yard waste per household for free at Stemilt Organic Recycling located at 719 S. Columbia Street.
DO NOT BRING: propane bottles, pressurized tanks, mattresses, furniture, fluorescent lights or ballasts, non-aluminum canopies, household batteries, printers, enclosed barrels and tanks or garbage. Disabled & elderly unable to bring items they have to recycle, please call Catholic Family Chore Services by April 12 to coordinate pickup at (509) 662-6761 extension 3006.
