City living - but rural life.

AVE you been to Consett lately? HThe rate of regeneration within the town is staggering. It is now home to some of the most desirable homes in the region.

The town centre is being redeveloped and many of the UK's leading stores can now be found in an around the area. And, of course, Consett is ideally located for commuting to Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.

One of the most exciting developments in Consett is to be found at Regents Park on the west side of the town.

Amethyst Homes, a Consett-based housing developer, has a fine reputation for building communities as well as building stunning, traditionally designed properties.

Their Regents Park development has wonderful views across the Derwent Valley, emphasising how carefully Amethyst take all environmental aspects into consideration.

They also carefully research the sort of buyers who are likely to move into their properties and plan their locations and house designs accordingly.

Crucially, Amethyst make their homes affordable. All of their homes qualify for the government backed Help to Buy Scheme.

This popular scheme allows buyers to borrow up to 20% of the value of their home and they only need to find a 5% deposit.

Amethyst Homes works closely with all buyers to ensure they use the most appropriate scheme. They work in partnership with the Mortgage Bureau who are on hand to help the buyer to choose the best lender for their individual situation.

Amethyst Homes has also been hugely successful in working with the Government's Homes and Communities Agency Builders Fund, allowing Amethyst to push ahead with their plans to develop affordable housing in Consett and the next new development in Sleekburn, Northumberland. Amethyst Homes is working closely with the local authority in Consett to ensure that Regents Park development becomes part of the new 'landscape' of the town; to be part of the rejuvenation of Consett and help build new, exciting and sustainable communities.
