City bowls club hosts open day.

ANYONE interested in trying their hand at bowls is invited to an open day at a Coventry club.

Jaguar Bowls Club is hosting the event at its greens at 12 Kinlet Close, Daimler Green, Radford, from 11am until 4pm next Saturday.

Frank Robinson, club secretary, said: "The open day is open to men or women of any age. All we ask is that they come with flat-soled footwear and, if they are under 18, that they are accompanied by an adult.

"All the equipment and coaching will be available free and there is no admission charge."

He added: "Visitors will be welcome to look around the facilities and try their hand at this nonstrenuous sport which gives fun, exercise and social interaction. And for the more competitive, they can progress to county or national level."

The bowls club has been established since 1946.
