City Slickers: COOKING UP A BORN WINNER..
Europe's largest travel firm yesterday launched a new company called jmc, with a little help from Britain's Walton sextuplets.
The firm moved straight into the number three spot in the British package holiday business, behind Airtours and Thompson.
It's called jmc after John Mason Cook, son of Thomas Cook who founded the company in the 1850s. The new company will spend pounds 200m in the next five years; pounds 100m on new aircraft and pounds 100m on the tour operations side. jmc has been created by amalgamating Thomas Cook tour company subsidiaries SunWorld, Sunset, and Inspirations and its two airlines, Flying Colours and Caledonian.
Slicker is a big fan of the new outfit. We suggest you give them a go.
