Citrus muffins.

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats

1/4 cup 7-grain cereal (or more rolled oats)

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

About 1/4 cup (1/8 lb.) butter or margarine, in chunks

1/4 cup sugar

5 tablespoons grated orange peel

1 large egg

3/4 cup grapefruit or orange juice

1 cup chopped pitted dates

In a bowl, combine flour, oats, cereal, baking powder, and soda.

In another bowl, combine butter, sugar, and orange peel. Beat until smoothly mixed. Add egg; beat to blend.

Stir grapefruit juice and dates into butter mixture. Add flour mixture and stir just until evenly moistened.

Spoon batter equally into 10 buttered muffin cups (2 1/2 to 2 3/4 in. wide). Bake in a 400|degrees~ oven until muffins are deep golden brown, 18 to 20 minutes. Serve hot or cool. Makes 10.
