Citizens suffer due to severe traffic jam near Shimla Pahari in Lahore.

LAHORE -- A severe traffic congestion has been reported near Shimla Pahari area in the provincial capital as hundreds of motorists are stuck on different roads for more than three hours.

Long queues of vehicles could been seen on Davis Road, Empress Road, Edgerton Road and Queen Mary College Road.

Meanwhile, traffic wardens have completely failed to control the situation.

Several motorists tried to use alternate roads and streets of the residential areas but they got trapped in the bumper-to-bumper traffic as they were already jammed with hundreds of vehicles.

Also, the ambulances carrying patients could not find way to reach the hospitals.

The citizens already affected by prolonged power outages and scorching heat have expressed anger over the situation.

The affected area lies close to the headquarter of Pakistan Railways and Lahore Press Club.
