Citizens refusing to submit their biometric data may be denied in provision of state registration services.

Those citizens, who refuse to submit their biometric data, may be denied in provision of services of the State Registration Service.

Law on biometric registration of citizens stipulates that submission of biometric data is mandatory, State Registration Service Vice Chairman Eldiyar Usubaliyev told reporters on August 28.

"Since this is a mandatory process, we want to see what will be turnout of citizens. Hopefully, people will come to submit their data themselves and they will not be forced to do that. Besides, we have established stations where it will be convenient for citizens to submit their data. The whole procedure will take only 10 minutes. It is possible to submit biometric data even in airport," the State Registration Service Vic Chairman stated.

"Submission of biometric data will ease provision of all services, will reduce red tape and collection of certificates. It will ensure safety of citizens and will ease fight against crime. We also consider introduction of amendments into the Administrative Liability Code to include sanctions for refusal to submit biometric data in form of a fine. We also mull denial in provision of State Registration services as another option of sanctions. People will be unable to obtain passports, driver's licenses, etc. in such case," Eldiyar Usubaliyev concluded.
