Cita outplay Melba to stay in top spot.

TEAM Cita defeated Team Melba 3-1 (2,890-2,763) to remain in pole position with just two weeks of action remaining in the Filipino Club Tenpin Bowlers Friday Mixed League, being played at Funland Centre.

Jerry Cervantes led five players who scored over 500 pins for the victors. Cervantes registered a 573 series, while Ronald Pabello had a 564. Mohammed Al Hashimi added a 551 total, Ronald Cabatn 530 and Alma Sulaiman 519.

Cita came back from a loss in the first game to take the final two and the overall count.

Motty Corre paced Melba with a 525 series, while Maryam Al Dosari scored 487.

With the result, Cita improved to 43 wins as they remained in first place on the standings.

Elsewhere in the league, Team Lim V and Team Rollie stayed within striking distance of the leaders despite contrasting results.

Lim V were held to a 2-2 draw with Team Rick (2,541-2,509), while Rollie scored a 4-0 sweep of an undermanned Team Becky.

Both Lim V and Rollie improved to 40 wins on the table and are still in the running to claim the champions; trophy.

Also still with a mathematical chance were Team Mina, who defeated Team Khaizul 4-0 (2,769-2,724). Ali Qaseer scored a 655 series to pace the winners, while JM Villanueva had a 547 total to lead his team in the losing effort.
