Church singers at Sage; IN BREIF.

GATESHEAD: A CHOIR of singers from 36 North East churches will perform at the Sage in Gateshead on Thursday, June 7. Local musician Stewart McCredie has put together the 100-strong choir to support internationally-renowned modern hymn-writers Keith and Kristyn Getty who bring their Northern Celtic Tour to the venue.

"Rehearsals have been held over the past four weeks at Beacon Lough Baptist Church in Gateshead," said Stewart. "Excitement has been growing, not just about the concert but the opportunity to sing some wonderful songs.

"We are close to having a full house at the Sage."
