Church set for flower festival; STAR BRIEFING.

Church volunteers have been busy cleaning windows ready for this weekend's Flower Festival.

The windows at St Mary's Church in Longnor have not been cleaned properly in more than two decades.

A team decided to tackle the delicate job ahead of the Longnor Flower Festival which takes place on Saturday and Sunday.

Churchwarden Annabel Warburg said: "The windows appear not to have been cleaned properly for about 25 years. They were thick with grime. Now, thanks to our team of volunteers they are crystal clear and sparkling again - perfect for showing off our flowers. The church is so much brighter now."

The Longnor Flower Festival will have a musical theme this year and children from the local school have created special artwork for the event.

A number of musicians will also be on hand to entertain visitors across the weekend.
