Christmas treat; YourSay.

YET again I would like to say a big thank you to the Sheldon Lions.

On Tuesday, November 24, we were invited to the George V Public House on Common Lane to attend Christmas dinner. It was a lovely meal with all the trimmings, good company, a raffle and even a quiz to keep the old brain box on its toes.

A good time was had by one and all. Then, on Saturday, November 28, I took my grandchildren along to Sheldon Community Centre to meet Father Christmas and we had another lovely afternoon.

The children had great presents and some sweets. If they wanted to, they could decorate a fairy cake to take home and there was tombola with some very nice prizes.

To top it all off there was a choir singing carols. What more could you want? I am now looking forward to seeing Father Christmas being driven along the streets of Sheldon one evening very soon, with the carols playing.

I always feel Christmas is really on the way when that happens.
