Christmas is not just for the children! SANTA'S GROTTO TO BECOME ADULTS ONLY ZONE.
Byline: DIANNE BOURNE
FED up of children hogging all of Santa's time at this time of year? Then rejoice as news reaches us that one Manchester store is preparing for the first time to throw open Santa's grotto to ADULTS to meet the big guy.
Kendals on Deansgate has revealed that on Thursday night, adults will be invited into their traditional festive grotto to meet Father Christmas, take selfies, and of course receive a present from the red-suited one.
While it's a chance to get nostalgic about happy childhood times when you visited the grotto, let's all avoid embarrassment and not try to sit on santa's knee on this occasion. After meeting Father Christmas, guests will then be led to a special festive 'apres ski' style bar, where you'll get to enjoy three gin cocktails for good measure.
Ticket prices for the one-off event are priced at PS15, and including the cocktails and a present from Santa.
Bosses at House of Fraser say they've decided to test out the adult grotto event due to 'customer demand.'.
And if it proves popular, it could become a regular offering alongside the children's grotto in years to come.
Anne Latham, Store Manager, said: "Each year thousands of children get to pass through our grotto and experience the magic of Christmas. "So many of our customers will remember visiting the store as a child, and so we decided to open to grotto to adults for the evening, to rekindle that childhood nostalgia and take a moment to enjoy the festive period without the stress of preparing for the big day, and endless to do lists. We want to bring merry back".
The adult grotto is open for one night only on Thursday, December 14 from 6.30pm to 9pm, and visitors need to prebook their tickets by calling 0161 832 3414.
