Chopra misses third century by four runs.

Dubai Child prodigy Shorye Chopra missed his third century of the season as he ran out of overs in the inaugural match of the Cricket for Care Inter Academy Under-15 tournament organised by the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC) at the Seven Seas cricket ground.

Chopra remained unbeaten on 96 for G Force Cricket Academy. Earlier, there was confusion regarding the tournament venue which resulted in Al Ain Sportsplex reaching late, forcing the organisers to reduce the match to an 18-over contest, instead of a 25-over one. Team Al Ain had accidentally reached The Sevens ground of the Emirates Group, instead of the Seven Seas ground at Dubai Investment Park.

In the 18-over match, G Force beat Al Ain by 156 runs after piling up a whopping 227 for 3. G Force, the reigning champions of the tournament, bowled out Al Ain for 71 runs, with Abhimanyu Prakash taking three wickets for 23 runs.

Chopra, who had hit two centuries in the Dubai Modern High School inter-school cricket tournament last week, went out to bat in the ninth over and hit three sixes and 14 fours.

His 96 came off just 38 balls. Kartik Dudeja chipped in with 73 runs in 39 balls with six boundaries while Varun Totadri hit 35 runs with seven boundaries.

Meanwhile, at the 7he Sevens ground, Trishur Cricket Club beat Car Fare by eight wickets in the Emerging League tournament.

To avoid further confusion, the organisers have reminded teams that all Inter Academy matches will be held at the Seven Seas ground.
