Choirs, orchestra set concerts.
Concerts by Lane Community College's Chamber Choir, Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra are scheduled this week.
Music from Ireland and Austria is among the works to be sung by the Lane Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, conducted by Tracy Freeze. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school's Performance Hall, 4000 E. 30th Ave.
On the Concert Choir's program are Knut Nystedt Suliram's "Cry Out and Shout"; "Danny Boy"; "Old Irish Air," arranged by Julie Knowles; and "Indonesian Lullaby," arranged by Robert De Cormier.
The Chamber Choir will sing John Farmer's "Fair Phyllis I Saw"; W.A. Mozart's "Regina Coeli"; Delores Keane and John Faulkner's "Mouth Music"; Rene Clausen's "Set Me as a Seal'; and "Jesu Dulcis Memoria" and "O Magnum Mysterium," both by Thomas Luis De Victoria.
The Lane Chamber Orchestra, directed by Ron Bertucci, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Center, 1850 Emerald St. On the program are Mozart's Overture to "Don Giovanni," K. 527; J.S. Bach's Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C Minor, BWV 1060 (with Lane instructors Cheryl Wefler, oboe, and Yvonne Hsueh, violin, as the soloists); and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major, D. 485.
Tickets for the concerts, at $4 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens, are available at the Lane ticket office, 726-2202, and at the door.
