DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 2001

ChipData, Inc., the Design Chain Management(TM) company, today announced Tom Selgas, vice president of marketing and co-founder of ChipData, will represent the company on RosettaNet's newly launched Solution Provider (SP) Board.

Comprised of industry-leading enterprise application and middleware developers, systems integrators, consultancies, e-service providers and infomediaries, the RosettaNet SP Board's primary focus is to drive critical development and implementation strategies in support of key RosettaNet initiatives.

RosettaNet represents more than 400 high tech companies committed to the implementation of eBusiness process standards for the information technology, electronic components and semiconductor manufacturing industries.

"Collaborative Product Design will be fueled by RosettaNet, as leading international companies understand the true value of expanding RosettaNet's development, strategy and implementation efforts," said Selgas. "Collaboration between electronic component manufacturers with CAD and EDA tool vendors, both vital partners in Design Chain Management, will grow significantly. ChipData plans to leverage interaction between the various Design Chain Management partners to improve time-to-market."

ChipData, through its ForceField(TM) Server and browser-based applications provides electronic component manufactures the means to transform existing PDF datasheets into RosettaNet PIP(TM) 2A9 electronic format and adds significant value by creating CAD-ready(TM) design information that supports today's standard EDA tools. This allows suppliers to provide accurate and timely component and design data that improves efficiencies and lowers costs throughout the design chain.

"ChipData's participation in RosettaNet's Solution Provider Board signifies a commitment to further align CAD and EDA tool vendors and design chain related companies working to advance RosettaNet initiatives," said Jennifer Hamilton, chief executive officer of RosettaNet. "ChipData, along with other valued members of the SP Board, continues to demonstrate industry leadership by attracting OEMs and suppliers to support RosettaNet in an effort to expand the consortium's global reach."

The SP Board partners with RosettaNet's existing boards to offer ongoing milestone programs and related deployment projects. In addition, the SP Board takes a leadership role in promoting RosettaNet's eBusiness initiatives including low-cost, turnkey solutions, next generation architecture and interoperability via RosettaNet's software compliance program.
