Chinese community plays important role in steering Sabah's economy, says CM.
Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman today said that the Chinese community has an important role in steering the economy in Sabah, especially through trade and entrepreneurship.
As such, Musa called on all members of the Chinese community in the state to continue supporting the government's aspiration and development programmes to ensure that the people would continue to benefit from the country, which soon to achieve the status of a high-income nation.
'The government appreciates all races in the country and this has become our strength. That is why the political stability we have today must be preserved, so that we can bring more development to the state,' he said when launching the Dragon, Unicorn and Lion Dance Festival 2018 organised by the United Sabah Chinese Communities Association (USCCA) here today.
On the event, Musa said the state government had always encouraged the organising of such a festival and hoped that it would continue to be held in the future.
'We welcome the organising of the festival because it is important for the Chinese community as they get to promote their cultures and at the same time showcase the beautiful colours and solidarity of the people in this multi-ethnic state of Sabah,' he said.
At the event, Musa also announced an allocation of RM200,000 to USCCA. - Bernama
