China to allocate 278,700,000 yuan to Kyrgyzstan for reconstruction and rehabilitation of 60 streets of Bishkek.

China will allocate 278.7 million yuan to Kyrgyzstan for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of 60 streets in Bishkek, Economy Minister Artyom Novikov said during the meeting with Ambassador of China to the Kyrgyz Republic Xiao Qinghua.

They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, including promotion of agricultural products made in Kyrgyzstan in the Chinese market, transfer of excess capacities from China to the Kyrgyz Republic, and cooperation in the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.

The two also signed exchange letters between the Kyrgyz government and the government of China on the development of the Bishkek street-road network (Phase 2) project implementation.

The project envisages reconstruction and rehabilitation of 60 road sections inside Bishkek. The project will be financed by a grant from China given to Kyrgyzstan as part of the technical and economic assistance. The total cost of the project is 278,730,000 yuan.
