China : JOLLIBEE FOODS endues $18 million to own and operate Dunkin Donuts stores in CHINA.
$18 million would be endowed by JOLLIBEE FOODS Corp to own and operate Dunkin Donuts stores in China, via a joint venture with Asian investment firm RRJ Capital.
As per Jollibee, The Dunkin Donuts deal provides us with an excellent opportunity to operate and expand one of the leading global coffee chain brands in the 2nd largest economy in the world. The projected sales and profit and loss in the first three years are not expected to be significant since the first few years will be focused on developing and building the store model and economics.
A joint venture deal has been inked by Jollibee s and RRJ s wholly-owned subsidiaries Jollibee Worldwide Pte. Ltd. and Jasmine Asset Holding Ltd., respectively, with the former having a 60% stake and the RRJ group, 40%.
A master franchise deal is expected to be signed with American global doughnut company Dunkin Donuts Franchising LLC. on Jan. 5 next year
For the first 12 months of operations, $18 million investment would be utilized.
