China,Ghana : GPHA inks a deal with CHEC to begin work on $150 MILLION Takoradi Port project.

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) declared that it has entered into an agreement with China Harbour engineering Company (CHEC) to commence work on the first phase of the $150 million Takoradi Port Infrastructure Development Project.

As per the agreement, CHEC will hold 60% of work on the project, while numerous Ghanaian companies would assume 40% of the project.

The agreement was initialed between Mr Richard Anamoo, Director-General of GPHA on behalf of the Authority and Mr Yang Tao, Country Manager of CHEC representing CHEC.

It is stated that the initial and second phases of the project valuing $344 million will be performed within two years.

The project would see the provision of essential facilities at the Takoradi Port including the construction of access roads, said Mr Anamoo, When completed, the Project would lift the Takoradi Port to greater heights.
