China,Ghana : CHINA extends its hands to develop energy sector of GHANA.

Ghana has secured commitment for persistent assistance from China in its efforts to produce sufficient amount of electricity for the empowerment of the country and speeding up the growth of its economy.

The pledge from China has come from its Ambassador to Ghana Ms Sun Baohong, who has promised of supporting Ghana to realize its renewable energy goals in the best possible way.

The Chinese Ambassador has revealed that Ghana has set a goal of generating 10% of its overall electricity using renewable sources within 2020 and they will render complete support to Ghana to help it develop its renewable energy capacity.

She has made these pledges during her recent meeting with the Ghanaian Minister for Energy and Petroleum Resources Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah at his Accra-based office.

The Ambassador has further said that the close partnership involving China and Ghana has facilitated in the accomplishment of numerous projects under energy sector. Considering this success, the ties amid the two nations can be expanded further.

Ms. Baohong has also promised to have close collaboration with Mr. kofi Buah to bolster the energy sector so that the power production targets set by the Ghanaian Government can be realized.

The Ambassador has also declared that soon China will start training process for the people of Ghana in order to prepare them adequately to facilitate development of the energy sector of Ghana.

Welcoming Ms. Baohong at his office in Accra, the Ghanaian Minister has thanked China for its persistent assistance to Ghana and expressed his hope of further reinforcement of the mutual relations amid them on the basis of South-South cooperation proposal.

He has also said that his latest trip to China has been productive and stressed that support from China in the renewable energy solutions for off-grid communities, including the in-progress projects, will be very positive for the country.
