Chiles tells of river escape; celeb WATCH.

TV star Adrian Chiles has told how he struggled to get out of a river "torrent" hours before covering an England game.

The football presenter and pundit Lee Dixon were in Berne, Switzerland, to cover the match for ITV. Chiles, 45, told the Radio Times that they jumped into a "fast-flowing river" in the town, in just their swimming trunks.

"We were swept off down the river," he said. Chiles was swept away "I can recall going past these beery England fans in a riverside cafe who did a classic comedy double-take."

Former England and Arsenal defender Dixon told the magazine they managed to grab an overhanging branch and pull themselves out.
