Child's beating leads to fatal stabbing at Karasburg.

A 28-year-old man was on Saturday stabbed to death for allegedly beating the suspect's child at Karasburg in the ||Kharas region.

The Namibian Police Force's crime investigations coordinator for ||Kharas, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday that the deceased had been identified as John Matross.

The incident happened at Plakkerskamp residential area around 18h20 on Saturday.

Mubebo said it is alleged that the 25-year-old suspect stabbed the deceased after an argument arose between the two.

'It is alleged that the argument started when the deceased had apparently beaten the suspect child. The suspect took the knife and stabbed Matroos once on his left side of the neck and the knife got stuck in the deceased neck,' he said.

He added that the suspect and the deceased are in-laws and the suspect has been arrested.

The deceased next of kin has been informed of his death and police investigations continue.
