Chicquita half-brother on offer.

AN Invincible Spirit half-brother to last year's Irish Oaks heroine Chicquita is one of 365 lots catalogued for this year's Arqana August Yearling Sale in Deauville, which takes place from August 16 to 18, writes Tom Pennington.

The colt is one of 29 lots consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux, who sold a Galileo filly out of Chicquita's dam Prudenzia for €1,000,000 to MV Magnier at last year's sale.

Chicquita, who was second to Treve in last year's Prix de Diane before scoring at the Curragh, was sold as part of the Paulyn Dispersal at the Goffs November Sale last year for €6m to Peter and Ross Doyle. She is being prepared by Aidan O'Brien for an autumn campaign.

Anna and Etienne Drion of the Coulonces Consignment, who sold last year's sale-topping son of Dubawi for €1.5m, have a draft of 39 yearlings, including a High Chaparral half-brother to 1,000 Guineas winner Miss France and a Teofilo half-brother to Le Havre, whose first crop includes dual Classic winner Avenir Certain. The duo also consign a half-sister to Avenir Certain by Rock Of Gibraltar.

The second renewal of the v2 Yearling sale takes place on Tuesday, August 19 and contains 123 yearlings that are deemed to be precocious types.
