Chic Shells.

My family just returned from our wonderful annual family vacation at the beach. We have visited and relaxed and shared with each other. We have been lazy in beach chairs under blue umbrellas and built forts and castles in the sand. We have viewed incredible sunsets and felt sea spray from the waves. We have rested and relaxed and enjoyed the warm sunshine and walked the beautiful beaches and collected shells, sand dollars, and memories.

Seashells remind us of the memories. They make us feel the sand under our bare feet and the sun warming us with the enchantment of the ocean waves rolling gently on the sand, stirring a peaceful sensation within. Seashells will add a touch of nature to your decorating and are simple to just place and enjoy. They are beautiful on a shelf or table or on a stack of books. Use them as paperweights or on easels. Glue them to ribbons for tassels on tiebacks or valances. They are beautiful when randomly spaced and glued to light, airy fabrics on shower curtains or sheers. They are lovely glued in patterns on drawer fronts or pulls on vintage chests or around the edge of a table. Group them in urns or under glass domes or in tall glass cylinders or vases. Candles and shells are a great combination. Glue them to candlesticks, or use them as votive holders. Make shell vases for flowers, or just artfully scatter them down the length of the table. Use them in place settings as name card holders or napkin rings. They are wonderful in garden settings on pots, stepping stones, or birdbaths. They are readily available at beach shops or craft stores but even more fun to gather at the beach on a sunny day with someone special. Attach shells with hot glue, Bond 527, Quick Grab glue, plaster of Paris, or Faster Plaster by Plaid.
