Chester Market could see more later openings due to popular demand; Council believed to be considering more later openings after success of Foodie Fridays.

More later openings are possible atChester Marketfollowing the success of new food and drink stalls plus the introduction of the popular Foodie Fridays.
Helen Rutherford-Gregory, founder of the SisterHub networking group for women in business, says the market has become a 'cool' place to hang out on a Friday when some stalls stay open until 8pm.
But she understands many of the new food and drink outlets would love the opportunity to stay open until 9pm on Fridays -- and also on Saturdays -- with the option of Sunday trading to benefit other traders too.
Helen, who started a petition which has attracted more than 500 names so far, is due to meet with market manager Karen Bates and Cllr Richard Beacham, fromCheshire West and Chester Council, who arranged the get together.
Cllr Beacham has taken an interest after helping to fund a Hunger Games initiative designed to support Chester's independent dining scene including places in the market.
And Cheshire Live understands discussions are already taking place around holding more late night openings with details to be worked out about how extra security can be provided to protect the stock of stalls not involved in later openings.

Helen wrote: "Chester Market has experienced an amazing resurgence. It has become a place which brings together the community to eat and drink in a family-friendly, affordable setting.
"As it stands, the only late evening is a Friday until 8pm. This only gives one evening per week when people who work in the daytime can enjoy some food or drinks and see the changes to the market."
She added: "This petition suggests that opening until 9pm on Friday and Saturday with a Sunday opening added too would boost trade for all and allow the community more time to come together. Staying open that extra hour on Friday and Saturday means that they don't have to call last orders at 7.30pm and run out of time to serve food.
"The feedback from the community has been that the market has really turned a corner. We hope this petition for extended opening hours will give the traders the best chance at success."
The design of the proposed new market hall, as part of the Northgate Development, will enable the outer circle of stalls to be closed off at night, with the inner food and entertainment area kept open into the evening.
