Chest-bumping time in Philly; PICK OF THE DAY.

Live NFL ESPN, 1.30am TONIGHT'S NFL takes place in possibly the most apt place there is for some gridiron action, Philadelphia, otherwise known as The City of Brotherly Love, writes Michael Brear.

Few words describe the NFL better than the slightly cheesy portmanteau 'bromance', so it's nice for Chicago to get to visit the bromance capital for tonight's affectionate male festival of chest-bumping, hugging and bum-spanking.

I've hugged my male friends and I confess to having been inebriated enough to have thought it a good idea to jovially show my open hand to the fleshy part of a mate's posterior (I was trying to make that sound better but it sounds worse), though I'm not sure I've ever chest-bumped anyone. I don't know if I could pull it off.

Chest-bumping just comes more naturally to Americans than Brits - it's sort of like making a cup of tea for them - and I think there's something about my physique that makes it impractical. I can't imagine myself doing it without accidentally headbutting my fellow 'bro'.

I'm going to spend tonight watching, learning and practising on my cardboard cutout of Philly man Will Smith.
