Cherrypicker's Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins; Volume 1: Half Cents Through Nickel Five-Cent Pieces, 6th Edition
Bill Fivaz and J.T. Stanton
Fivaz and Stanton update again their guide to US coins that came out of the die different than the standard coin. They may have misplaced dates or other features, different sizes of features, or mixed sizes but the most frequent is that they were repunched, so that the date has a slight shadow in one direction. Stretching from the late 18th century to the early 21st, this volume covers half cents, large cents, flying eagle cents, Indian head cents, Lincoln cents, two-cent pieces, silver and nickel three-cent pieces, shield nickels, liberty head nickels, buffalo nickels, and Jefferson nickels. Arrows on enlarged images of the coins point out where the anomalies are. ([umlaut] Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR)
