Cherie Blair cleared.

CHERIE BLAIR has been cleared of failing to pay tax on pearls she bought on foreign trips with the Prime Minister.

Mrs Blair imported pearls and other jewellery for which she paid around pounds 3,000 on three trips to China.

Mrs Blair reportedly did not pay VAT or import duty on the pearls.

But it is understood she paid later. Customs sources said there was no obligation to pay immediately. Customs refused to say if it had approached Mrs Blair or she had paid the money of her own volition
