Chenal's new pro. (Whispers).

There's a new golf pro at Little Rock's Chenal Country Club.

John Warburton, 33, started this past week for the club that routinely is ranked among the country's top-100 golf courses by Golf Week magazine and was recently rated as Arkansas' top club in a poll by Arkansas Business readers.

Warburton and his family came from Memphis, where he was golf pro for three years at Tournament Players Club Network's Southwind. The club is considered the mid-South's top, golf club, according to Mid-South Golfer. Prior to that, he spent three years at TPC's Jasna Polana in Princeton, N.J.

Warburton is also just in time for Chenal's June opening of an as yet unnamed new 7,314-yard, 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Warburton replaces Mike Smith at Chenal.
