Chemical Bank moving in downtown Wht. Plains

Chemical Bank has leased 12,250 square feet of retail/office space at 191 Mamaroneck, between Maple Street and East Post Road in downtown White Plains. The new full-service retail branch is double the size of the bank's current offices.

Chemical Bank will move from another location in downtown White Plains that it had occupied for many years. The grand opening is planned for July 1, after substantial alterations and improvements have been made to the new facility, which building was previously occupied and fully renovated in 1986 by Great Western Bank.

Chemical Bank's new prime location will include retail banking facilities, a commercial banking center, two ATMs, safe deposit boxes and private conference rooms.

"The greatest advantage of the new facility is that it will have parking directly behind the building," said Robert Weber, Chemical Bank's real estate officer.

191 Mamaroneck Avenue is one of two adjoining buildings controlled by The Anfang Group, of which Stephen F. Anfang is principal. The companion building, 181 Mamaroneck, has approximately 9000 square feet of retail/office and basement space available. Leasing is being performed by Anfang Resources (N.Y.C.) The space is divisible into flexible floor plans. The White Plains municipal parking lot with 500 spaces adjoins both properties at the rear, with direct access to both buildings. Between the buildings is a promenade walkway that leads directly to the Mamaroneck Avenue shopping and office district.
