Chefs are Britain's No.1 junk food slobs.

Byline: Nick Dorman

CHEFS are Britain's unhealthiest workers - because they scoff the most JUNK FOOD.

They also BOOZE and SMOKE more than any other group, say researchers.

Professional cooks eat an average 12 snacks of crisps, chocolate or biscuits a week and at least one takeaway.

They puff an average 58 cigs and down eight alcoholic drinks every week. Farmers and electricians are the next unhealthiest workers says the poll by healthcare firm Medicash.

Director Peter Lauris said: "Chefs know how to prepare a nice, healthy meal - but in reality it's probably the last thing they feel like doing when they get home."

Ad reps, teachers and human resources staff are the healthiest.
