Cheesecake farm scoops EUR500k deal; ECONOMY.

A FARM has struck a EUR500,000 cheesecake deal with Tesco UK, it was announced yesterday . Glenilen in West Cork already has an existing arrangement with Tesco Ireland for the supply of yoghurts and other desserts.

Owner Alan Kingston said the deal increases the potential for his business to employ more people.

He added: "It's very encouraging for our prospects when our efforts are recognised by a major supermarket.

"Our trade with Tesco Ireland has created five jobs since 2008 so this is another super fillip for our company - we look forward to the new, exciting challenge."

Tesco's Jacqueline O'Neill said "We're delighted to offer their lemon and summerfruit cheesecakes to customers in over 100 stores in the UK."
