TWO businesses have blended together to brew a new coffee-flavoured stout.

Truefitt Brewing Company, famed for its North Riding bitter, worked with Middlesbrough coffee importer Caffe Vinci to create their new Caffe Vinci Porter.

The partnership came about after Truefitt owner Matt Power met Eugene Lanny, who works in business development for Caffe Vinci, at a pub.

Matt, who founded Truefitt in April last year, said: "I'd been thinking of doing a coffee porter anyway and talking to Eugene provided a great opportunity to work with another local business.

"It's been great working with Caffe Vinci. They have a lot of experience and have been very helpful.

"We'll release this trial batch through Teesside Beers and hopefully then continue our partnership."

The brewery, based on Lawson Road industrial estate, will release the new brew as a special edition with Caffe Vinci providing the Brazilian arabica beans.

Eugene, who was a already a big fan Truefitt's ales before his chance encounter with Matt.

He said: "We came up with the idea of working together to brew the optimum-flavoured coffee porter.

"Caffe Vinci are pleased to be associated with another local business. It's great that a young guy like Matt has set up such a successful company on Teesside."

Truefitt's new Caffe Vinci Porter will be available at local pubs and upcoming beer festivals.
