Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup - pounds 17

ONE of the easiest and most convenient mineral make ups on the market, it comes with its own special application system to avoid those clouds of powder mishaps. A built in puff and on/off switch means you can apply this silky powder anywhere. The powder smooths on leaving a finish and a matte look which looks natural.

A PRICEY makeup it has to be said, so getting your money's worth is important. The minute particles of powder do seem to just glide over the skin, providing sheer but good cover which leaves skin looking bright and fresh. But some may think it a little too much to pay for that luxury.

Avon Personal Match Smooth Mineral Make-up - pounds 7

GREAT price first of all and, while the packaging is simple and basic, the powder is fine and velvety smooth - just like your skin once you have put it on. With a range of shades there is one to suit all colour tones.

Revlon ColorStay Mineral Foundation - pounds 12.99

ANOTHER handy little pot that comes with its own applicator, a little built in brush. Not quite as neat as the Urban Decay pot and puff, it still means you have everything you want in one neat, little package. A tiny twist of the top extends the short stubby brush, which is great for applying the fine powder without sending it cascading into the air around you like a cloud. The coverage is light but good and lasting.

Clinique almost powder makeup - pounds 18.50

NOT entirely a mineral makeup but, containing minerals, it is the option preferred by Clinique. A pressed powder encased in a chic new-look mirrored compact, and accompanied by its own plush pad, it offers a veil of natural colour which lasts for hours and hides imperfections to leave a clear-looking complexion.
