Cheapest plumber in history.

Zip-It is a nifty, all-too-simple tool made to unclog drains. I bought one for about $3 at the suggestion of a seasoned staffer at the hardware store. (Must be the cheapest plumbing tool in history!) I didn't need it at the time, but once he explained the little plastic strip's ability, I couldn't resist. I brought it home and waited eagerly for a drain to choke.

About two months later, I was blessed with a clogged bathroom sink. Yahoo! I thought. Finally. I took Zip-It out from under the sink and got to work. All I did was pull out the sink's stopper and gently slide the end the toothed strip down the drain. No waiting for chemicals to kick in. I pulled the strip out and the drain was completely cleared.

The teeth are as sharp as the claws on an angry cat, so be mindful when handling the strip. But the results were very impressive: Hair, soap and crud found only in drains came out with a pull. The gadget cleaned up quickly and is back under the sink ready for the next opportunity. And for $2.74, the reusable Zip-It is my best return on investment ever. And it's made in the U.S.A.!
