CheapAsChips; BEN'S LICKEY HILLS FISH BAR, 460 LICKEY ROAD, REDNAL.

Byline: GRAHAM YOUNG

IF I had a shop here, I'd be more inclined to call it something like Lick Your Lips, but plain old Ben's didn't disappoint.

During a lunchtime break when sunshine and black clouds were threatening to create a rainbow right outside the window, I joked that I'd be looking for a golden bag at the end of it.

My server, one of the chirpiest chipsters I've ever met, agreed.

He admirably maintained eye contact while enjoying some fun ''which club should be relegated'' banter with a regular customer.

A pounds 1 cone weighing 450g on my in-car scales deserves this promotion.
