Chauffeur so good..

Byline: RICHARD SMITH

A CHAUFFEUR made a 90-mile detour in his stretch limo when flooding threatened to ruin Maggie Littlewood's 18th birthday.

Torrential rain meant the 10-minute drive from her home to her party was impossible. The River Wye had burst its banks cutting Hereford in half.

Maggie was in tears as it looked like she would have to cancel - 80 of her 100 guests were forced to cry off.

But Phil Hienricy, who owns Absolute Limousines, worked out a route along country roads that meant he could keep his promise to get her to the party.

He said: "The smile on her face when she arrived was well worth it. Of course I didn't charge extra - it was her birthday."

After crawling there at just 25mph, Maggie and five friends got to the party three hours late, but the teenager said: "I ended up having a fantastic time."
