Charles takes the crown as busiest royal; ROYALTY.

PRINCE Charles has trounced his sister Anne for the first time to become the most hard-working royal of 2008, it emerged yesterday.

Charles carried out 560 official engagements, just pipping the Princess Royal, on 534, to the post.

Royal follower Tim O'Donovan, from Datchet, Berks, compiles the figures each year. He said: "The Prince of Wales does a huge amount of meetings and audiences, while the Princess Royal spends a lot of time out and about, getting down to it."

A Clarence House spokesman said: "The Prince takes a very active interest in a large number of aspects of British life and the number of his engagements reflects that."

Sons William and Harry attended 24 and 17 engagements respectively, while the Queen, at 82, racked up an impressive 417 royal visits.
