Charles J. Luszcz, 89.

BRIMFIELD Charles J. Luszcz, 89, formerly of Brimfield, MA, died early Monday January 4, 2010 in Easthampton, MA at the home of his daughter after a period of declining health.

He was born in Warren, MA on July 11, 1920. He was happily married to Statia J. Sypek for 62 years.

Charlie was a licensed electrician and worked at a number of companies including Chapman Valve, Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, Yellen and Yellen Electric, Monsanto Chemical, and Grogan Electric, and retired from his last job at Monson Developmental Center. During his career he also performed electrical work for friends. He was an avid reader and enjoyed puttering around his house and land, and always had several ongoing projects.

He was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, MA for over 25 years, where he made his Cursillo in 1990. He was proud to serve as a Eucharistic Minister and it was his pleasure to bring Holy Communion to shut-ins.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Statia and five children, Dennis and wife Karen of Sheridan, WY, Joseph and wife Diane of Hudson, NH, Paul and wife Jean Schwier of Plymouth, MA, David and wife Nora of Glastonbury, CT, and Mary D'Amato and husband Jack of Easthampton, MA; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours at Beers & Story Funeral Home, 1475 North Main St., Palmer, MA Friday January 8th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Luszcz's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or charity of choice.
