Charles, Nick and Nora.

Charles, Nick and Nora Fictional characters, a husband-and-wife detective team, created by Dashiell Hammett in his mystery novel Thin Man, The but probably best known from a popular series (1934-47) of six witty comedy-mystery films starring William Powell and Myrna Loy.

Nick and Nora Charles are an urbane, happily married couple who dote on their Airedale terrier, Asta. A former police detective, Nick has retired and the couple live quite well on Nora's inheritance. The sophisticated banter and the personal chemistry between the couple made the solving of crime somewhat secondary.
