Byline: Jack Mathieson

A 93-YEAR-OLD army veteran whose motorised wheelchair was wrecked by vandals is to have it fixed by a charity.

Poppy Scotland yesterday vowed to repair Tom Gilzean's PS3000 mobility scooter, which was vandalised as he lay in bed with bronchitis.

Gary Gray, of Poppy Scotland, said: "We were shocked to hear Tom had been targeted so callously.

"We'll be back in touch swiftly to make sure he gets the help he deserves."

Ex-Royal Engineer Tom, said: "I'd like to thank Poppy Scotland very much for thinking about me and trying to help me."
