Charity action for wrestlers; sport ROUND-UP.

WRESTLING: A charity wrestling event in aid of Cancer Research UK is being held in Connah's Quay tomorrow night.

The show, at Connah's Quay Civic Hall is being staged by Basix Wrestling, a sports entertainment academy based in Flintshire.

On the bill are many of Basix Wrestling's protegees, with Demolition facing the Renegades in a tag-team title clash, while other bouts include "The Narcissist" Mick Romeo v Ben Ellis, "King of Cool" Danny Valentine v Marc Morgan, plus junior action featuring Drew Baines v Danny Fletton.

The show starts at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm), with tickets costing pounds 8 or pounds 6 for children and senior citizens.

Basix Wrestling is run by professional wrestler "Iron man" Mike Roberts, from Connah's Quay, who has 26 years experience in the ring.

Founded six years ago, the academy now has around 220 trainees of all ages. Classes are held in Queensferry, Wrexham, Buckley and Ellesmere Port. For more information go to or email
