Charity Appeals: New donors required.

Each year, thousands of people with bone marrow diseases such as leukaemia, aplastic anaemia and immune deficiency disorders, reach a stage where only a bone marrow transplant can possibly save them.

Relatives can make the best matches. However, this is not always possible and an unrelated donor must be found.

There are now close to 345,000 people registered but more are needed.

To join the register, donors must be aged between 18 and 40 and weigh over eight stone. Women with children under 12 months cannot join. For more information telephone 020 7284 1234 or anthonynolan.org.uk
