Chapels access closed.

ONE of the vehicular entrances to Dewsbury Cemetery has been closed because of storm damage.

One of the derelict and vandalised Twin Chapels suffered further damage in Wednesday night's storm.

As a result Kirklees Council has closed the Cemetery Road access to vehicles.

St Paulinus School, which is next to the cemetery in Temple Road, has been informed and parents warned not to park there.

People visiting graves at the bottom end of the cemetery are still able to gain access by using the bottom gate on Ravenshouse Road.

There are concerns that the grade II listed chapel may be unsafe.
