Changes of command.
Cmdr. Miguel Peko was relieved by Cmdr. James Gardner as commanding officer of VAW-125 on 15 April 2011.Capt. Scott C. Kraverath assumed command of U.S. Naval Activities, Spain/U.S. Naval Station Rota on 26 May 2011. His predecessor, Capt. Bill Mosk, was relieved of command on 18 April.
Cmdr. Kevin Ferguson relieved Cmdr. Hugh Rankin as the commanding officer of Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit, North Island, on 5 May 2011.
Cmdr. John H. Fox relieved Cmdr. Jason Jorgensen as the commanding officer of VP-5 during a change of command ceremony on 13 May 2011.
The John C. Stennis CSG held a change of command ceremony on 24 May 2011 as Rear Adm. Craig Faller relieved Rear Adm. Joseph Aucoin.
Cmdr. Ryan Carron relieved Cmdr. Herschel Weinstock of command of HSC-3 on 26 May 2011 at NAS North Island.
Cmdr. John Perrone relieved Cmdr. Max McCoy as commanding officer of VFA-86 on 26 May 2011 at MCAS Beaufort, S.C.
Cmdr. Craig M. Snyder relieved Cmdr. William H. Sheehan as commanding officer of VT- 9 on 2 June 2011.
Cmdr. Phillip L. Faucheux relieved Cmdr. Matthew J. Lipetska as commanding officer of VR-54 on 4 June 2011 at NAS JRB New Orleans.
Cmdr. Joseph R. O'Brien relieved Cmdr. Sean P. Haley as commanding officer of HSL-44 on 9 June 2011. The event also marked the squadron's official transition and redesignation to HSM-74.
