Changes in federal corrections set.

OTTAWA -- The Regional Mental Health Centre attached to Archambault Institution has been designated as multi-level, as is the practice in the other regions.

The portion of Saskatchewan Penitentiary accommodating women has been closed and the new Secure Unit has been opened at Edmonton Institution for Women.

William Head Institution has been reclassified from medium to minimum security.

Chilliwack Community Correctional Centre has been opened as a new CSC facility.

Sumas Community Correctional Centre has been closed pending its refit as a new operational unit.

The Regional Health Centre in the Pacific region has been redeveloped with new institutions opening: the Regional Treatment Centre (Pacific) as a multi-level and the Pacific Institution as a multi-level.
