Specific disorders covered include Tourette's syndrome, bipolar disorder, executive dysfunction, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, memory deficits and slow processing speed, nonverbal learning disability, pervasive developmental disorders, Asperger's syndrome, anxiety disorders, depression, sensory processing disorder, pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with strep (PANDAS), storms or rages, oppositional defiant disorder, and sleep problems. They explain effects on children's learning and behavior, how symptoms of one condition can relate to another, strategies to improve academic performance, social skills, and emotional stability, and other conditions to look for. They also address behavioral and academic issues in specific areas. The CD-ROM contains checklists, survey forms, and worksheets included in the appendices. Packer, a psychologist who treats children and adults with Tourette's syndrome and other disorders, and Pruitt, an educational therapist who works with individuals with neurological impairments, both have children with neurological disorders.
