LAW firm Chadwick Lawrence is set to move its Halifax office to the town's Dean Clough Mill this autumn.
Chadwick Lawrence will leave its current office in Somerset House, Rawson Street, to occupy a newlyrenovated ground floor office at the top of the main street at Dean Clough, known as The Old Fire Station.
The firm, which also has offices at Railway Street in Huddersfield, has had a presence in Halifax for more than 30 years. It opened its first office in the town at 23a Bull Close Lane before taking over the whole building. It moved to Somerset House in 2010.
As well as providing legal advice to thousands of clients across Calderdale, it has carried out pro bono support to organisations including Community Foundation for Calderdale, Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax Minster, Voluntary Action Calderdale, Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band, Northern Broadsides and Halifax RLFC.
Steven Bonfield, who will continue as supervising partner at Dean Clough, said the firm was investing significantly in a new IT system as part of its long-term strategy to improve efficiency and the client experience.
"Communication is the key," he said. "We have over 200 employees located in three offices and four branches throughout West Yorkshire. Our aim is to ensure that whichever of our seven offices clients choose, to access any of the disciplines we offer, they will enjoy levels of service and expert advice which are consistently excellent."
The team will continue to operate out of the Somerset House office until the autumn and will confirm a moving date with all clients and contacts shortly.
