Central Restaurant opening on Steinway Street in Astoria. (Retail New York).

As Astoria emerges as one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in New York City, Central Restaurant offers diners high quality new-age American cuisine with distinct Mediterranean influences.

Whether looking for a three-course dinner or a late night dessert, Central provides customers with the highest quality cuisine in an aesthetically stunning atmosphere.

Central's beautiful interior, designed by Yoon Lee of Matter Design (The Park, Joy, Patricia Field Showroom) is separated into three distinct areas. The front bar provides an open area for patrons to enjoy a drink and is cordoned off from the lounge by a suspended mezzanine and a hanging wall with a fireplace and wooden bookshelves built in. The mezzanine also includes a state-of-the art sound system that provides music throughout the night. The lounge area features luxurious velvet couches where guests can enjoy a drink or dinner. The main dining room is outfitted with bright red upholstered banquettes as well as a communal table for large parties. Aluminum screened walls complete the restaurant's chic decor. An enclosed 2,500-SF outdoor deck will offer open-air dining in the summer and will be heated in the winter months to provide a warm area to smoke.

Located at 20-30 Steinway St. in Astoria, Central Restaurant offers patrons upscale dining in a relaxing, lounge-like atmosphere. The menu, created by Executive Chef Cleofas Perez, formerly of La Goulue and consulting chefs Lesley Swan from Bistrot Margot, Pascal Le Seach from Balthazar and La Goulue and Dale H Schnell of Tonic includes an eclectic mix of new-age American cuisine with distinct Mediterranean influences. Decorator Yoon Lee of Matter Design (The Park, Joy, Patricia Field Showroom) has designed a striking interior with separate bar, lounge and dining areas that feature plush couches, red velvet banquettes, aluminum-screened walls and slate floors. Central is open Monday-Friday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Free valet parking is available.
